| Rupali
Ganguly who was last seen in Sony Big
Boss finaly makes her comeback with J.D's new show Ek
Packet Umeed. She is essaying the role of Sujata in the show and
is very excited to return back with the familiar production house. "I
loved the concept of the show as it's very real. Besides that I'm playing a strong
character which is like me," says Rupali. |
Elaborating
on her role she says, "Sujata in one word is sunshine. This is how the description
of the character was given to me by J.D. bhai. I feel Sujata is the face of Umeed,
a 25 year old vivacious girl. She is a typical youngster who is happy with life
in general and also has quite a stubborn streak in her." Is there
any similarity between Sujata and Rupali? Of course there has to be some
similarity. For instance Sujata takes things for granted but repents later. Being
impulsive is very much like Rupali. I was more like Monisha my character in Sarabhai,
than Sujata. To be very frank Monisha is a better version of Rupali," she
informs. What took you so much of time to come back on screen?
"After my exit from Big Boss I was flooded with offers but I planned
to take a break and be with my family. After doing that show I realised of how
much pain my parents have taken to brought me up. I realised that I had been a
bad child and thus wanted to be with my family," she explains "I
took up this show as I like the story and I was familiar with the production.
J.D. and Aatish bhai are like my second family. Even before entering Big Boss
I asked them as I was not sure whether I should go for it or not. I discuss my
personal and professional life with them. J.D. bhai just told me that if you want
to win this show just be like Monisha," she utters. After Big
Boss Rupali was named 'Cry Baby due to her breaking into tears much too often
on the show'. "At least I am not a b**** but a cry baby. Even now some of
my close friends call me rotadi but I'm like that, very emotional. Even if I'm
happy tears roll down my cheeks. I can't help it but I'm happy being like that,"
chirps Rupali. So what did you do during your sabbatical? "I
used to sleep and watch TV. It was great fun and finally my parents got bugged
and forced me to go out and work. During my holiday I met few of my old pals and
besides that I did theatre which is my first love. It was great and I was rejuvenated."
Recently in an interview Rupali has told a newspaper about her on-going
affair. So when is she planning to tie the knot? "I'm no more single
but its too early to reveal his identity as before that I want to be sure about
him. I'm training him as it very difficult to stay with me because I' m very lazy,"
she speaks. Rupali does not wish to have a traditional marriage.
"I want to elope and get married. It is fun and adventurous. I will call
my parents and tell them that I got married today and then later we can call everybody
for our reception," she concludes. So as she gets ready to elope
we wish her loads of happiness.
