Ardhangini
has remained in the news for its lavish sets and an offbeat love story. Though
the show started off well but gradually the TRPs began to drop. Now the latest
buzz in the industry is that this dream project of Zee is soon to go off air.
The actors though have denied the rumours. The latest TAM reading
rates Ardhangini at 1.06. Yet another buzz is that the lead characters
Ajay Krish and Sudeepa may be replaced. To clear the clouds we called up Priyam
(Ajay) to know the truth. “I
don’t think that the show is shutting down. I agree that it has not been executed
the way it was conceptualised. The show had a different story to tell where Kangana’s
beauty becomes a curse for her. I think this shouldn’t have been dragged till
the 50th episode. In other words somewhere we have missed the boat but now all
of us are trying to catch with it soon,” says Ajay. It’s been heard
that in order to bail it out there will be some changes in the concept. “The creative
team and all of us are working hard at it. The repair work of the boat has started.
The story will now take a turn and come to the original track. Now I think it
will work,” he says. Are you aware of the buzz that the lead pair
may be replaced? “I have no clue about it. As far as I know the channel is happy
with both of us. In between I had a small tiff with the production house but it
was solved. As an actor I have justified my role. If they want to chuck me out
they’ll have to come up with a proper justification as I have a right to know
where I went wrong. But for now the channel feels I’m handling the character of
Priyam well,” he explains. We also confirmed the news with Sudeepa.
“I have no idea of us being replaced. Ardhangini was always there in the
news from the start and talking about the TRPs they always keeps fluctuating,
it’s a game. We are all giving our best and I think we will grow,” she informs.
Nobody from the channel was available for comments. We do
wish that the serial gets bailed out of its current low phase.
