It is rare to see our lead
actors donning female attire to fulfill the demand of the shows. One such actor
who did this was Siddharth Shukla lead actor of Babul
Ka Aangann Chootey Na. It is learnt that Siddharth was not very
keen on dressing like a lady. But he had to overcome his apprehension and unwillingness
and consent to it after being convinced by the production house. The
six feet two inches tall model turned actor Siddharth had to dress like a mehendiwali.
He says, “There is a scene where I am asking my on-screen girlfriend Aastha for
a kiss but she being a simple girl doesn’t want to do it. I finally tell her that
I would kiss her once before our wedding. So I dress like a mehendiwali as it
is the mehendi session where guys are not allowed. I eventually kiss her and win
the challenge.” He adds, “I was initially very apprehensive about
donning a saree as I feared if I would not be able to carry it. I remember wearing
it when I was in the second standard but things were different then. The entire
episode has helped me understand females better. I now understand where do they
come from and how tough it is to carry a saree.” The actor became
the butt of all jokes and everyone right from the cast to the crew cracked jokes
at his expense. Siddharth says, “Those present on the sets were calling me sexy
and beautiful. My on-screen sister and mother too were passing comments at me.”
The episode will be aired next week.
