Haute summer trends

Here comes the season of sweat, of scorching heat and fiery days. Every season brings with it new trends.

Tellychakkar caught up with our TV celebs to check out their summer wardrobe and to know what they do to keep cool in these sweltering times.

Amir Ali:
I suggest that people should dress real comfy in summer. I'm always casually dressed and in summer, I get super casual. I like wearing jeans and t-shirt of light fabric. I also wear a lot of singlets and gunjees. I drink a lot of fresh fruit juices to combat heat and maintain my skin. It gets difficult to carry a hairstyle in summer so I have to struggle with that. Sometimes, I just let it be the way it is. I basically go for an easy-going style for summer which compliments my cool and casual attitude.

Bruna Abdullah:
A one-piece dress with bright colours is ideal for summer. I find that Hawaiian chappals are cool this season. I love to dress in my shorts and chappals. My wardrobe has changed for the season because I have had to go extra comfortable with my dressing to beat the heat. I love to tan and go totally bare skin in summer. I don't even wear a sun block cream. I generally tie up my hair because it saves it from being damaged and is easy to manage. Other than that I don't really bother much about summer.

Prachi Desai:
I prefer dressing cute, as always. I love to wear bright colours like pink, blue, yellow in this season. These colours make me feel cheerful and happy. I try to wear more of cotton clothes and avoid other fabrics. My sense of dressing is directly connected with my mood. My basic criteria is that I should feel happy in whatever I wear. There has been a lot of addition to my wardrobe this summer. I have picked up my clothes from 'AND' and 'SEPIA'. For summer, I recommend an application of home- made face packs to take care of skin, drink and splash a lot of water on the face and wear minimal makeup.

Barkha Bisht:
I have a new wardrobe for the new season. I have opted for shorts and vests and feel that linen pants and mini skirts are the kind of clothes to be worn in summer. Recently, on my trip to Malaysia, I picked up a lot of shorts. I insist on using sunscreen and sun block creams and moisturising lotions to go with them. I drink a lot of fluid to maintain my skin.

Gaurav Chopra:
I go stylish in summer. Men should be dressed in a classic way. For western wear, I prefer linen pants, clothes with well-defined cuts, pastel colours, stripes with free print…they look great for summer. For Indian wear, I prefer translucent kurtas with light colours. I avoid wearing shoes even with suits. I prefer sandals and slippers in summer. I love to dress in white for this season. I have cut my hair very short and I don't style it much, I just leave the way it is. My hair has a mind of its own! I'm also going for a leaner look this season for a new international project.
