There
soon may be no new shows for some time as
the face-off between broadcasters and producers
continues. As most shows have depleted their
bank of fresh content viewers will soon
be seeing only re-runs. But amidst this
news comes the news of a new show to be
launched on Sony but obviously with an ambiguity
regarding its launch date.
News
has it that a new non-fiction show with
a unique format and an equally unique title
will be replacing Kaante
Ki Takkar.
A source from the production house informed,
“The production house Optymistix which also
owns Kaante Ki Takkar is producing
the show. The tentative title of the show
is Shakeel Made In China. It will
be hosted by Pakistani stand-up artiste
Shakeel.
Set to launch on December 6th the show will
replace Kaante Ki Takkar but considering
the current volatile scenario across channels
the launch date may be changed. The format
of the show is such that, it will have four
different segments.”
Elaborating on the format, the source added,
“The first segment will consist of famous
celebrities chatting with Shakeel. Politician
Vilasrao Deshmukh and Indian cricketer Yuvraj
Singh along with a few Bollywood celebs
have been approached for this segment. The
second segment will have pairs doing stand-up
comedy. Ehsaan Qureshi and Sambhavna Seth
from Bigg Boss 2 are likely to be
a part of this show and will perform together
in this segment. The third segment is called
the Izzat segment where Shakeel will
be seen making fun of ordinary people like
BMC workers, traffic police, taxi drivers,
etc. The fourth segment is a dare devil
segment where people from Limca book of
records and Guinness book of world records
will showcase their unusual talent.”
Producer Vipul Shah refused to comment
till the channel makes an official announcement.
Shakeel was unavailable for his comment
as he is in Pakistan at the moment.
