It’s testing times for Sony’s Waqt. Over the last few weeks, it’s been widely buzzed that the daily will come to an end. While that is still a possibility but for the moment the show’s producers can relax. After all, Waqt has got an extension.

A well placed source informed, “The show was supposed to come to an end after the completion of 104 episodes but it has now got an extension of sixteen episodes. The extension is due to the rise in TRPs. So far, the show has completed eighty-seven episodes.”

When contacted producer Dheeraj Kumar, he said, “I don’t want to comment on it till the channel talks officially to the media.”

Sony Entertainment Television EVP and Business Head Albert Almeida though confirmed the news. “Yes, the show has got an extension. The contract of Waqt was for a particular number of episodes. This was decided earlier itself when the contract was signed. Now we have decided to give an extension to the show for a few episodes.” said Almeida.
